About Carter Aquatics
Carter Aquatics is dedicated to completing high end, new construction and renovation projects for residential and commercial pools, and aquatics rectreational facilities throughout Southern adn Central Delaware. We are continually seeking new opportunities to showcase our design and construction skills.
Founded in 2015 as a partnership between Laurie Carter and Chris Howard, with Kathleen Mahon as lead designer and eventual project manager, Carter Aquatics has seen constant growth ever since.
In the Fall of 2021, Laurie decided to step away from her full-time role with the company and transferred ownership to Kathleen Mahon.
Kathleen and Chris are moving forward with the same goals and dedication - providing top tier design, construction, and customer service to the residents of Southern and Central Delaware.

Chris Howard
Chris Howard has been building pools on the Delmarva Peninsula for over 15 years. Before partnering with Carter Aquatics, Chris worked with a premier East Coast company building distinctive swimming pools for the most discerning customers.
Having attained the highest certifications available in the industry, including Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP)* Certified Service Tech and Certified Building Professional, Chris is happy to have become a permanent part of the Lewes area and a fixture of quality within the Carter Aquatics Group.
Always working towards customer satisfaction; Chris’s goal is, "to make our customers’ decision to purchase a swimming pool not only a lifestyle choice but a life changing experience!"

Kathleen Mahon
Kathleen Mahon started with Carter Aquatics a few months after it's founding as a designer. As the company grew so did Kathleen's role and by 2021, she had added sales, project management, and office admin to her job title. When Laurie decided she needed a change of pace, it was a natural decision to bring Kathleen into the leadership role. Kathleen officially assumed ownership of Carter Aquatics on October 1st, 2021.
Kathleen's experience with swimming pools dates to her high school years, when she began working as a lifeguard, pool maintainer, and manager. Little did she know, those part-time jobs would launch her on a career in pool construction!
Kathleen studied Industrial Design at Western Washington University, and went on to graduate with a Studio Art degree in 2014. Kathleen's studies, experience, and knowledge of the design process, creative concept development, CAD, and customer service allow her to bring each customer a design that speaks specifically to their desires and needs.
Kathleen has completed the classroom portion of APSP's* Professional Builder course and became a Certified Pool Chemist for residential pools in January 2020. Kathleen continues to further her knowledge of the ever-evolving pool and spa industry.

Laurie Carter
A long-time staple of the pool industry in Sussex County, Laurie Carter founded Carter Aquatics in partnership with Chris Howard in 2015 after the sale of her pool service company, Carter Pool Management. Laurie's connections with local realtors and builders as well as stellar customer service really helped cement Carter Aquatics as a competitive pool builder in Souther Delaware.
After leading the company for six years, laurie decided it was time to slow down and spend more time with her family. She is confidently leaving Carter Aquatics in the capable hands of her long-time employee Kathleen Mahon and will remain involved with the company as a consultant.
